This role is based on a shift work 24 x 7 Network Operations Center. The Network Engineer will be responsible for monitoring all partners. Primary responsibility will be Network Monitoring and the timely resolution of network incidents, minimizing the impact of any outages and downtime. Co-ordination of ISP¡¯s and third party facilities to ensure rapid diagnosis and resolution of network faults. This role will also take responsibility for managing open trouble tickets and liaising with external suppliers and other departments within to ensure minimum disruption and downtime on the network.
JOB DESCRIPTIONS AND COVERAGE
Network Management and Analysis
Incident detection, identification, and diagnosis using industry standard Network Monitoring and Management Tools
Pro-active analysis and incident management ensuring all faults are resolved within SLA
Ensure that trouble tickets are regularly updated with meaningful technical analysis
Prioritize resources to resolve incidents in appropriate order based on business needs
Assist in identifying new tools that would help to resolve issues or create a smoother and more efficient monitoring process
Perform hardware and software testing including providing feedback and configuration documentation
Commissioning of new properties from the Network Operations perspective
Involve in network design and implementation
Manage relationship with major ISP¡¯s and Telco companies worldwide
Deploy patches released by the Product Development team to all production servers worldwide
Maintain accurate records and timely reports on equipment operation and ensure issues are completed
DESIRABLE QUALIFICAIONS & COMPETENCIES:
Degree/Diploma in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
Previous experience in helpdesk and/or technical support, minimum of 2 years
Linux certification or demonstrated proficiency/understanding
Cisco CCNA certification or demonstrated proficiency/understanding
Comfortable with both Linux and Windows environment
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to accurately interpret incidents
